My experiences in Hungary

On the 20th day of January of 2019 I came to Hungary via the Erasmus+ project by the name SWIM. My schoolmates, students from other countries, and me were hosted by the families of the Hungarian students. I myself was housed by the Döbörhegy family, who were all exceedingly kind and welcoming. I ate well, slept well, and was given more than enough food for each day’s activities.

With the language being the exception, Hungary turned out to seem a lot less foreign to me than I had originally thought it would be. Being located in the Hungarian town of Kőszeg, we were brought along to see some of its important and beautiful places. We visited the vice-mayor, who gave us a survey to fill, which we as of the time of this text being written still have not filled out, have been to a frozen lake which had a layer of ice so thick that it could take a thrown brick without even cracking, went to a castle in which we could dress up as medieval people, and—of course—worked on the project itself, participating in workshops centered around the topic of the project, Strengths and Weaknesses In the Media.
